Dollars for Scholars Application Form

The following information is required for all applicants seeking a scholarship from the WEA-Retired Dollars for Scholars program. Your completed application form and your letter of recommendation must be received at the address below by April 16, 2010.

1. Are you a certificated, classified or student WEA member? Please select one.

A. Why do you feel that you have a financial need?

B. How many years have you worked in education? In which areas have you worked? What have been your specific job titles? If you're a student WEA member, please explain how you plan to use your college course of study.

C. When did you join WEA and how many years of active participation? If you're a student member and if you have a SWEA chapter on campus, how have you been involved?

D. What role does the education association have in your life and how do you contribute? If you're a student member, please list and describe what other organizations in which you are a member.

E. Summarize your experience working with young people in your community.

F. State briefly how you will use a WEA-Retired scholarship grant.

G. Any other information you want us to know?

2.  Include one letter of recommendation.

3. Please make sure your completed application includes your address, phone number and the WEA identification number that appears on your WEA membership card.

4. Mail your completed application and letter of recommendation to: WEA-Retired Dollars for Scholars Scholarship Committee, 51 SE Bayview Lane, Shelton, WA 98584.

Recipients will be notified by phone by May 14, 2010.

Please note:
* In order for WEA-Retired to consider your application, this form, along with your letter of recommendation, must be completed in full.
*The scholarship WEA-Retired awards must be used within one year of being accepted and for the purpose stated in your application.
