Regional trainings are now available for educators who administer the Washington Alternate Assessment System (WAAS) Portfolio.
Registration is now available online for the 2013-14 Washington Alternate Assessment System (WAAS) Portfolio Training. This half day, 3-hour class is provided through the WEA Special Education Support Center State Needs Grant in cooperation with the state Superintendent of Public Instruction Special Education and Assessment Divisions. The training is co-facilitated by OSPI Alternate Assessment Coordinator Lesley Siegel, and members from the WEA Special Education Cadre.
This free training is offered to teachers, assessment coordinators and district personnel across the state who administers the WAAS-Portfolio Assessment. The training will cover the administration and structure of the 2013-2014 WAAS-Portfolio and the relationship of the WAAS-Portfolio to instruction and the IEP. In addition participants will be introduced to the Common Core Essential Elements for students with significant cognitive challenges.
Three clock hours are available, on site, for $5. A CD of all of the materials will be given to participants to take home with them. The remaining WAAS-Portfolio Trainings are listed below. Please only register and attend one.
