Congratulations to Mia Sanchez - a senior at Grandview High School in the Grandview School District - whose artwork Life in Line was selected by WEA as our top choice across the state!

"I'm a watercolor artist and Life in Line is a watercolor piece. I was inspired by elements in life. When I was making this, I was reminded that not everything is perfect. Just use your imagination and in the end, you'll come out with something you're proud of.” says Sanchez. “Simple things can be greater than they seem.”

Art teacher and Grandview EA member Kimberly Hall had this to say about Sanchez. "The message Mia shares with us in Life in Line is relatable. She was able to capture a story in a simple image that we all can relate to. I am very proud of her and her ability to capture deep messages in her stylized artwork."

The Superintendent's High School Art Show is an annual event hosted by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction. Washington state high school students participate in this artistic celebration each year. On May 30, award winners from across the state were honored at the 2023 Superintendent's High School Art Show at Benaroya Hall.
