Schoolwide & Targeted Assistance Programs
Schools that serve high numbers of low-income students may establish programs of academic and non-academic supports to improve students' academic growth. Schools with more than 40% free and reduced lunch, or schools with a waiver, may provide schoolwide support while targeted support may be provided at schools that don't meet this threshold.

School Improvement Efforts
Schools identified by the state's Accountability system for school improvement must develop plans to support student learning and growth. The lowest 5% of Title I schools and HSs with less than 67% of students graduating are labeled Comprehensive Schools. Schools with consistently underperforming groups of students are labeled Targeted Schools.

To receive Title I funding, district plans require:

• Stakeholder collaboration
• A description of how to provide supports for struggling students, subgroups of struggling students, and low-performing schools
• District determined short and long term goals for student achievement and growth
• Monitoring to ensure low-income students aren't disproportionately assigned to ineffective, inexperienced & out-of-field teachers
• Plans for culturally responsive classroom management & discipline practices
• If appropriate, coordination of academic & CTE programs or work based learning opportunities for HSs
• Parents Right to know assurances in regards to teacher and paraprofessional qualification, student testing, and English language learner's rights
