Join WEA members, parents, students and community members on Jan. 16 to rally for student civil rights and amply funded public schools.

WEA Chinook and the Olympia Education Association has coordinated parking and shuttle bus service to the Capitol for your convenience. Buses will be running from about 8:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. from Olympia High School to get you to the rally on the Capitol steps on time.

The rally begins at 10:30 am, and participants will deliver the Student Bill of Rights to legislators at 11:30. We will be joined by a broad array of speakers from the education and civil rights community.

The Commons at OHS will have hot beverages to keep you warm and pastries to help get you going. There will be a sign-in location, postcards for you to fill out and drop off at your legislators' offices. Pre-printed poster signs will be available, if you want, to take to the rally. Better yet, make your own personal poster!

Return shuttles will begin around noon, and the last pick up ride from the Capitol will be at 2 p.m.

Register below to let us know if you're coming and if you'd like to ride the bus from Olympia High School. Alternatively, you can leave your car and carpool from OHS.

Bring colleagues, friends & family members with you. The more, the merrier.
