This workshop explores what it means for sex-ed to be truly LGBTQ+ inclusive, and why LGBTQ+ inclusive sex-ed benefits students of all genders and sexual orientations. We will identify practical, concrete practices for creating an inclusive sex-ed program and welcoming classroom space, and you will have the opportunity to practice addressing difficult and/or values-based questions.
Together we will also examine the dynamics of gender-based stereotyping and violence, and identify ways to address and help dismantle gender-based oppression as part of your lessons. Throughout the workshop, you will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive guidance from your peers and the presenter.
