Price Jimerson Voting Selfie 3

Tomorrow, August 4, is Primary Election day here in Washington. If you haven’t marked and mailed your ballot for pro-education, pro-union candidates, please send it in today!

We all know the general election in November is critical. As both a student and future educator, I have significant concerns about potential changes to education funding in our state and across our nation.  As President of SWEA and WEA-PAC Board member, I know these concerns are shared by WEA members.

August 4 is our last chance to ensure pro-education, pro-union candidates will be on the November ballot. We want the people who will create next year’s budgets and school policies to share our values, so it is essential we ensure the candidates endorsed by WEA-PAC win tomorrow’s primary election.

The pro-public education, pro-union candidates who appear on our sample ballot were vetted through questionnaires and interviews with members of our political action committee. WEA members like you donated hundreds of hours of their time to identify and engage with candidates across the state so that we can identify those who will champion and support educators and our students during this ongoing crisis.

Your vote is essential this election. Please take a few minutes to download your sample ballot and review candidates in your area.  Then grab your official ballot and cast your votes for pro-education, pro-union candidates down the entire ballot.

Make sure to mail your ballot today or to drop it into an official ballot drop-box before 8:00 pm tomorrow (August 4th).

Price Jimerson,
SWEA President and WEA-PAC Board member
