That’s one goal when it comes to educating our students. In our country, we assume that everyone, at least, is given the opportunity to learn how to read. When we talk about learning how to read, many people think of teachers, and we sometimes forget that every adult in our schools — from the bus driver who greets students before they even arrive at school to the people who work in our offices, our cafeterias, even our swimming pools — all those adults are dedicated to helping our students learn.
As part of this year’s Read Across America celebration, March 2, we salute some of the Education Support Professionals who are there for our students every day. We’ll be featuring our ESP members from around the state over the next several weeks and we’re excited, too, that we’ll be sponsoring an evening for teens in Spokane March 2.
