Federal Way bargaining team reaches tentative agreement
The Federal Way Education Association Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement after a 19-hour bargaining session early Tuesday morning.
Details of the tentative settlement will be presented at the General Membership meeting this Thursday, Aug. 31, at Thomas Jefferson High School. Sign-in opens at 4:30 p.m.; the meeting starts at 5:15 p.m. and members will vote on whether to approve or reject the agreement.
Federal Way members march for fair contract
Some 350 Federal Way Education Association members and supporters chose to stand united for strong Federal Way schools this week during informational picketing outside Federal Way High School. Educators, parents and allies are calling for a fair contract that will offer professional compensation to keep great teachers in the district, foster a positive learning environment for students and give educators a respected, professional voice in making the key decisions in the schools.
