Let's celebrate our nation of diverse readers! Let's read and grow together with 12 months of recommended books, authors, and teaching resources that promote diversity and inclusion.

NEA's Read Across America Day is March 2 -- but we can celebrate reading all year long, of course! For many, school is still virtual, so Read Across America will be too! Here are some ideas for how to celebrate safely.

Looking for books to captivate, engage and feature students of color, students of marginalized identities, students with disabilities and students with diverse families? Here are several links to get you going:

As a result of New Business Item 28 from the 2020 WEA Representative Assembly, WEA is publishing a list of books by authors of color for educators so they can provide students with books that reflect their backgrounds and cultures. Check out and download our book lists: Fall 2020, Winter 2021. Also, view this list of books by theme or check out what's in store.

Seeking free materials? Check out these resources and bring print and online books to qualifying schools and students.
