WEA member and Bellevue College adjunct instructor Tobi Rosenberg recently wrote this letter to the editor of The Seattle Times. Rosenberg's letter highlights the importance of paying college faculty competitive and professional salaries.
"For brighter futures for students, our legislators must address faculty working conditions. Let them resume the lapsed commitment to provide equal pay for equal work for part-timers, who earn about 60 cents to a full-time dollar," Rosenberg wrote.
WEA continues to fight for full collective bargaining rights for community and technical college faculty members, which would be a major step forward. Faculty bargaining rights are a top WEA legislative priority for 2018.
