Register today for the WEA Educators of Color Conference
Registration is now open for two WEA Educators of Color conferences. The conferences offer an opportunity for WEA members of color and their allies to grow together, elevate our skills and knowledge around building collaborative communities, and empower ourselves, each other and our students to overcome shared challenges. This is a time to embrace our struggles and successes in a safe and inclusive space, surrounded by others who may readily understand the trials that students and educators of color face in our public schools.
The conferences are part of an effort to create a new culture in our schools that advocates for an end to institutional racism and promotes racial justice. They are possible thanks to WEA members who adopted a New Business Item at the 2018 WEA Representative Assembly. There are two conferences being held, one on the eastside and one on the west, to expand our reach. Space is limited so please register as soon as possible.
