These physical, emotional, or neurological conditions -- known as invisible disabilities -- can limit or challenge a person’s movements, senses, or activities, and can impact that person’s ability to learn or work. These conditions affect students and educators more than you may think.

Invisible disabilities are part of the daily lives of many school-aged children. And bodily and neuro diversity are part of the "normal"” life experience. A lack of framework to talk about the unseen may lead to peer misunderstandings, isolation, marginalization, bullying behaviors, and stigma. It does not have to be this way. To support students with invisible disabilities, check out the PAL program.
The documentary feature, Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, follows a summer camp for teens with disabilities, focusing on those campers who turned themselves into activists for the disability rights movement and follows their fight for accessibility legislation.
