The start of every school year is special, but this is even more so. For the first time, you're not the student, but the teacher. Or the counselor. Or one of the many other adults who are part of the team who educates our kids.
People who work in education often say they have a calling or passion for the work. Whether you are a classroom teacher, other certificated staff or an Education Support Professional, you came to this profession because you believe in the promise our youth and public education.
As you begin your first year in your new job, your passion, as well as your training, will carry you a long way. It’s also really important for you to know you are not alone as you navigate these first months and years on the job.
