Culturally Responsive Classroom Management
This three-hour training will help educators develop culturally responsive classroom management practices to ensure students experience a positive, consistent, safe and equitable classroom. Participants will learn strategies to appreciate/appropriately integrate students' culture & family backgrounds into the classroom culture.
- Understand core practices for developing culturally responsive classroom management.
- Learn how to begin building social relationships, communicating in culturally responsive ways, cultivating a safe/inclusive environment and engaging with families/communities.
- Discuss cultural assumptions, views, & beliefs to help reflect on how their own cultural histories & biases may affect work with students from culturally, linguistically & socio-economically diverse backgrounds.
- Receive resources & materials to support a culturally responsive classroom.
This training is intended for the following Education Associations: Bethel, Fife, Franklin Pierce and Puyallup.
Registration fee is $10 for members and $50 for non-members. Three clock hours and dinner are included.
