Creating classrooms that are culturally responsive is essential for ensuring that all students are successful. Participants will read the book, Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain by Zaretta Hammond, and develop plans for implementing culturally responsive teaching strategies. We will meet five times in a Zoom format; each session will focus on two chapters. There will also be assignments between sessions.

Objectives:
Participants will demonstrate an understanding of the connection between how the brain works and student behavior and learning in the classroom.
Participants will develop strategies for developing relationships with students, including in a remote learning environment
