Inslee

We know that Governor Inslee backs strong public schools and now he’s working alongside us to elect pro-education champions.  Together, we have the power to make sure our students get what they need.

Recently, the Governor shared his thoughts with us about a few WEA-PAC endorsed candidates in key races in our state.

Superintendent Chris Reykdal

Educators are backing Supt. Reykdal because he backs us.  Unlike his opponent, Supt. Reykdal has experience as a certificated classroom teacher and is a strong supporter of public education.  Educators across the state aren’t just voting for him—we’re volunteering to make sure voters know that Supt. Reykdal is the right choice for our schools.

“I have worked with Superintendent Reykdal for the past four years and can attest to his dedication to our public schools and their students,” said Gov. Inslee.  “He has been a strong voice for improving funding, diversifying curriculum, and meeting every student’s needs.  Join me in voting to retain Supt. Reykdal.”

10th LD – Helen Price Johnson

Helen Price Johnson agrees with educators that we need to eliminate standardized testing and she opposes voucher schemes that would direct money away from our public schools.  Her two children attended public schools and she understands the need to increase funding to meet students’ mental health needs.

“I am proud to stand with you in support of Helen Price Johnson,” said Gov. Inslee. “Helen has been serving her community for decades as a former school board member and a third-generation small business owner on Whidbey Island. She will be a strong advocate for our public schools and a compelling voice for our families and our community. Join me in voting for Helen Price Johnson.”

28th LD  - T’wina Nobles

T’wina Nobles worked as a teacher in Tacoma at Stadium High School and Lincoln High School for five years and as a paraeducator and substitute in University Place for five years.  She will work to increase educator pay, reduce class sizes, and push for more equity and inclusion in schools.

“As educators you’re the heart of our community. That’s why I’m proud to stand with you in support of T’wina Nobles and her campaign for state senate,” remarked Gov. Inslee. “T’wina’s record of service is exceptional and her experience as an educator and school board member will help us find ways to better serve, connect with, and educate kids in harder-to-reach communities across the state. Please vote for T’wina Nobles.”
