Teachers work tirelessly on the front lines of education every day. They are deeply committed to the success of every child. Join the WEA, NEA and National PTA in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week (May 7-12).

We know that appreciation alone will not reduce the challenges teachers face to help meet the needs of their students, but it will let them know their efforts are not going unnoticed. Here are some things you can do to help show your appreciation.

Make a real difference in the lives of amazing teachers by taking these four easy actions:

  1. Contact your state legislators and tell them to oppose the Senate education budget, which is bad for schools and kids.
  2. Donate to the WEA Children’s Fund so teachers can be reimbursed for the money they spend providing for some of the basic needs of their students.
  3. Join WEA-PAC and help get pro-education candidates elected to office.
  4. Visit your local school and find out how you can help. Volunteer in the concession stand at a football game, donate supplies, or chaperone an event.
